My Favorite Purchases of 2021
So I am guilty of shopping a little too much! 2021 brought back the return of events and travel, after 2020 felt so shut down and casual. I wanted to share the products that I tried AND loved this past year, since I find them to be timeless, versatile, and will be forever in my wardrobe rotation. I hope you end up loving these picks too!
YSL envelope clutch
This evening clutch was something I had lusted over, and decided to pull the plug on since it is so useful! A black leather evening clutch will always be in style and is forever versatile for dressy looks. I love its chic gold hardware, which add just a small pop of visual interest to a simple bag. I opted for the pebbled leather, since it least likely to get scuffed or marked. Trust me- this is a great investment piece!
Golden Goose Sneakers
Oh, I never thought I would love Golden Goose sneakers so much, but I DO! After visiting Austin for Spring Break and seeing so many people wear them, I couldn’t stop thinking about them. I pulled the plug and was so glad I did. They are comfortable and extremely versatile (as long as you don’t get some funky, sparkly ones). Since I can dress pretty casual for work, I find that I wear them multiple times a week! I know they are a lot, but if you look at cost per wear, they are definitely worth it!
Beautycounter Skincare and Makeup
I was so excited to become a Beautycounter consultant in 2021! I became passionate about skincare in my 30s, and love the clean and sustainable mission of Beautycounter products. They are more restrictive of ingredients than the FDA to ensure you are only putting safe products on your skin. Bonus- they are way more affordable than products you are sold at spas or boutiques. She’s Unique Jewelry
I discovered the cutest jewelry shop in Old Town Alexandria this year from the recommendations of friends! They carry dainty and delicate jewelry that can be layered to create stylish looks. The owner, Katya, is incredibly nice and helpful. I always go there and let her pick pieces for me. I trust her eye completely! I promise it is one of the best gems in Old Town!
Athletic Clothes
Ok, so if you have been following Closet Hook for more than a week, you will know I LOVE a good workout set! Fitness is a huge part of my life and the key to me feeling my best. Great workout clothes is always a good motivator to show up to the gym or hop on my peloton bike.
